As a collegiate boxer, Joey was a 3-time National Champion (NCBA 1997, 1998, and 1999), 4-time Regional Champion and 4-time All American. After returning from basic training/technical school for the Nevada Air National Guard, he fought and became the Nevada State Golden-Gloves Super-Middleweight Champion in May 2000. He had his first professional fight that summer before entering law school.
In 2004, Joey was cast in NBC’s The Contender, working alongside Sylvester Stallone, Sugar Ray Leonard and other talented boxers. Joey’s love of prizefighting ultimately led him to become ranked #3 in the world by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and #7 in the world by the World Boxing Council (WBC). Joey was formerly both WBO-NABO and WBC-USNBC Middleweight Champion—2006 & 2007.
Today, Joey Gilbert continues to fight, not in the ring, but in the court. You want Joey in your corner to fight for you and your rights.
For a period of 10 years (2000-2010) as a professional boxer, I dedicated my life to fighting for myself. Everything I did was focused on winning the boxing matches ahead. I fought and won. Since then, I have now dedicated my time and resources to fighting for the people of Nevada. Yes, I am fighting for you. It is my number one priority to respond to the community outcry at any time. I fight for you, regardless of sex, religion, race, and status.
Joey is leading a County by County initiative to restore We the People as the deciders over decisions that affect every aspect of life in each county.
